City of Grant Press Release - NOVEMBER 17, 2020

NOVEMBER 17, 2020

CITY OF GRANT PRESS RELEASE

In response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, the City of Grant has been monitoring various governmental agencies such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Nebraska State Government (including the Governor’s office), Nebraska’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD), and Perkins County Healthcare Service.

It is important during this time of uncertainty that we remain calm and be proactive in protecting our citizens.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and conscientious cooperation in efforts to protect our community, family, and friends.

The safety of our citizens has been and will continue to be our number one priority.

These guidelines will remain in place until the SWNPHD Risk Dial is moved out of the RED.

In the interest of public safety and due to the Risk Dial from Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) moving to the RED, the City of Grant is taking the following actions including but not limited to:

CITY HALL:  CLOSED to the Public until the SWNPHD Risk Dial is out of the Red.  We are available in person BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and ask that no more than two (2) citizens be in the office at once as they will need to maintain 6 ft distance from another at all times, and our space is limited.  We also will REQUIRE that you wear a mask while inside the City Office Building.  Staff is available during normal business hours Monday-Friday 7 AM to 4 PM, over the phone (308-352-2100), or via email (grantmgr@gpcom.net).

HASTINGS MEMORIAL LIBRARY:  CLOSED to the Public until the SWNPHD Risk Dial is out of the RED.  The Library is still providing curbside checkout and various other services, contact them directly at 308-352-4894 or visit their website at http://www.libraries.ne.gov/grant/.

GRANT MUNICIPAL AIRPORT:  CLOSED to the General Public until the SWNPHD Risk Dial is out of the RED and ask that no more than five (3) crew members or pilots are in the main terminal at once as space is prohibitive and 6 ft social distance will be required at all times.  We also will REQUIRE that you wear a mask while inside the main terminal.

GRANT CITY PARK:  The Park is OPEN, and we recommend you adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (NDHHS), and Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department pertaining to social distancing/gatherings while visiting the Park.

PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT:  OPEN to the Public but this equipment is entered at your own risk as it is only being cleaned on an as needed basis.
