Article 10 ─ Board of Public Works

SECTION 2-1001: MEMBERS; TERMS
A. The Board of Public Works shall consist of five members, residents of the city, who may be removed by the mayor and a majority of the City Council.
B. The term of each member of the board shall be three years, and the terms of not more than two members shall expire at any one time.
C. The board shall have the following powers:
1. Review day-to-day activities of the city's electrical distribution system, including maintenance and operation, and report any concerns it may have to the council;
2. Give an annual report to the council at its first regular meeting in June of the city's electrical distribution system;
3. Upon resolution or motion of the council, investigate, analyze, recommend and advise certain specific projects, improvements, changes, and modifications of the city's electrical distribution system; and
4. Advise the council of contracts which concern the electrical distribution system of the city. (Neb. Rev. Stat. §17-801)
