2020 Summer Ball Plan
2020 PLAN FOR SUMMER BALL PROGRAM
JUNE 1ST THROUGH JUNE 17TH
The City of Grant has made these decisions based on the recommendations from the Governor and is doing the best we can to provide a summer activity for the children of our great community.
Teams will be allowed to practice starting June 1st by following the recommendations below:
- Dugout use shall NOT be allowed from June 1st through June 21st during PRACTICE
- Players’ items should be lined up against the fence at least six (6) feet apart
- Parents must remain in their cars during practice and during drop off and pick up
- Players should use their own gloves, helmets, and bats as much as possible
- Coaches are responsible for ensuring social distancing is maintained between players as much as possible
- Coaches shall also maintain additional spacing between players while playing catch, changing drills and absolutely no congregating of players while waiting to bat
- Players must bring their own water/beverage to consume before, during, and after practice
- No shared drinking fountains or coolers
- Players must bring their own snacks to consume before, during, and after practice
- Absolutely no sunflower seeds, tobacco, or spiting is allowed on the premises
- No shared/communal snacks
- Coaches must sanitize shared equipment before and after each practice
Anyone found to be in violation of the rules and regulations listed above will be given first a verbal warning, second a written warning, and a third violation shall mean that the coach will be prohibited from participating in the 2020 Summer Ball Season.
2020 PLAN FOR SUMMER BALL PROGRAM
JUNE 18TH THROUGH END OF SEASON
The City of Grant has made these decisions based on the recommendations from the Governor and is doing the best we can to provide a summer activity for the children of our great community.
Teams will be allowed to hold games starting June 18th by following the recommendations below:
- Same guidelines apply as above for baseball and softball practices
- Use of dugouts shall be permitted after June 18th and only during games through June 21st
- Starting June 22nd dugouts shall be available during all practices and games
- Players should have designated spots to place their personal items (six (6) feet apart).
- Coaches must designate an adult who is responsible for ensuring players are seated in their chairs unless they are actively participating in the game
- Players should use their own gloves, helmets, and bats as much as possible
- No use of bleachers for fans
- Fans must bring their own chairs or stand
- Fans are recommended to keep six (6) feet of social distancing between different households/groups
- Group size shall be limited to a maximum of eight (8)
- No fan seating or standing is allowed in the area from behind home plate to within six (6) feet of the nearest player or within six (6) feet of the farthest player
- Teams to play next must be provided designated areas for player warm-ups that provide for necessary social distancing
- Post-game handshakes or interaction between teams are prohibited
- When games end, the leaving team(s) must sanitize the assigned team seating area(s) and dugout(s)
- No post-game talks at the field are permitted
- Fans and players must leave the playing area and return to their cars immediately after the game
- The team to play next must remain in their designated warm up area until the prior team has finished sanitizing and is completely out of the dugout
- Fans for upcoming games must remain in their cars during player warmups. They will be permitted to come to the field once the team they are there to watch enters the designated seating area
- Restrooms will be cleaned and sanitized regularly while players and fans are present
- Markings may be placed on the ground to ensure individuals waiting to use the restroom are spaced six (6) feet apart
- Players must bring their own water/beverage to consume before, during, and after practices and games
- No shared drinking fountains or coolers
- Players must bring their own snacks to consume before, during, and after practice and games
- Absolutely no sunflower seeds, tobacco, or spiting is allowed on the premises
- No shared/communal snacks

- Concessions stands shall not be available for the 2020 Summer Ball Season

Participant Agreement shall be signed before any child can practice or play in a game
Bathrooms shall only be available after June 18 and only available during games
There shall be no fee associated for the 2020 Summer Ball Season
