COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
CITY OF GRANT, NEBRASKA
April 22, 2008
Mayor Adam Uehling convened a meeting of the Council of the City of Grant, Nebraska in open and public session on April 22, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.  Notice of this meeting was given in advance by publication in the Grant Tribune Sentinel, the City’s designated method for giving notice, April 17, 2008, and members of the City Council and a copy of their Acknowledgment of Receipt and the Agenda are attached to these minutes.  Availability of the Agenda was communicated in the advance notice and in the notice to the Mayor and Council of this meeting.  All proceedings hereafter shown were recorded while said meeting was open to the attendance of the public.
Mayor Uehling announced the posting of the Open Meetings Act and its location.
Roll call:  Present Council members:  Pick, Pierce, Wyatt and Mayor Uehling.
Others present:  City Administrator Tyson McGreer, Temporary Treasurer Tara Petty, City Attorney Phil Pierce, et al.
The motion was made and seconded to approve the agenda as presented.
Roll call vote:  Yeas – all present. Nays – none.  Motion carried.
A motion was made to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2008 meeting with the noted change and waive the reading.
Roll call vote:  Yeas – all present  Nays – none. Motion carried.
COMMUNICATIONS:  City Manager, Tyson McGreer, informed council of the recent insurance refund, discussed the fluoride bill, gave an update on the progress of the sheriff’s contract committee and announced upcoming meetings. 
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: 
Council member, Wyatt - none.  Tyson Mcgreer gave an update on the recent Planning /Zoning committee meeting.  Council member, Pick – none.  Council member, Pierce - none.
FINANCIALS – Acknowledged as received.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Review of Trash Policy.  Council reviewed and discussed the two options presented.  No action taken.
NEW BUSINESS
Mayor appointment of Council Member. No action taken.
Mayor appointment of City Clerk/Treasurer.  No action taken.
Keno Request.  A motion was made and seconded to table the Keno Requests until the May 13th, 2008 meeting. 
Roll call vote:  Yeas – all present. Nays – none.  Motion carried.
A motion was made and seconded to go into executive session to discuss both the Jenny’s and Stumpy’s Economic Development Loans at 7:50PM.
Roll call vote:  Yeas – all present. Nays – none.  Motion carried.
A motion was made and seconded to come out of the executive session at 8:10 PM.

The motion was made and seconded to approve the Bills and Claims in the amount of $ 65,093.99

Mayor Uehling adjourned this meeting of the Grant City Council at 8:11 P.M.
